Thusdays' Mani

This Mani was suggested by my Husband. Unfortunately, the pink was extremely bubbly. Of course my Pedi looks way cuter with the addition of Phoebe's paws.

Well, well

Surprise. I lost over a month there. This is something that has regularly happened in the past with my blogging attempts. I'm good then I get distracted.
Instead of trying to remember all that has happened (funeral, work, family, etc.) let's just stay in the present shall we?
On Saturday I decided to update my mani/pedi with a more vibrant duo.

InstaDri

I'm a little behind. did change my Mani on the 30th. I went with this:

Base Coat: Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat

2 Coats: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in Mochachino Frost (17)

Top Coat: Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat

I like this colour. It's kind of a vampy red-brown. Not at all like the chocolate frost they show on their website. It actually has quite the staying power. As I said, I slapped this on Monday and I when I took it off on Saturday, it had some tip wear and it was starting to get rough around the cuticles.
Next up, the Husband convinces me to buy one of my OPI lemmings.

Back

So lately I have been spending more time reading blogs than anything, but I have found that this has led me to want to try blogging again. Not on any one thing in particular, but just on the randomness that happens. With that being said, many of the blogs I have been reading deal with Beauty & Fashion. Because I happen to love nail polish and view it as a necessity, I will probably be posting swatches.

My Husband actually responded when i had teasingly asked "What colour should I paint them tonight?" "Dark Electric Blue".

Well I do not have that colour, but I do have a dark blue and an electric blue. So in the photos you see what I layered.

Base Coat: Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat

2 Coats: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 4835-07 Deep Sea Blue

1 Coat: Covergirl NailSlicks in 302 Electric Blue (Frost)

Top Coat: Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat

I have received several comments on this colour, and everyone seems disappointed that it did not come from one bottle. I applied this Thursday night and as of today, I only have some slight tip wear. I'm feeling rather lazy and I do have some things lined up for the rest of today, but I'm hoping to change the colour tomorrow evening.

Fail

Not Epically, but getting close. Fell out of the blogging thing (again). Anywho...dyed the hair. It is Black with a layer of Red underneath curtesy of Manic Panic's Red Passion. I also got my nose pierced on the left side. Tiny stud which pleases me to no end!
Back to the fail....the Nail Polish I am currently wearing (Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine in Glossy) is a complete failure. I love the colour. Black with a Red Shimmer, but the formula leaves quite a bit to be desired. It is heavy. 24 hours later, I could still make a dent in it. Yes, it is soft. The application is either super thin and streaky or a thick, gloppy mess. This is one of those sad stories. You reach for it time and again because you love the colour, only to remember why you haven't worn it in such a long time. Reminds me of half of my closet....I will take pictures if there is every any sunlight to be had!
